The choice of aggregate industry
We provide all kinds of crushing machines including stationary crusher and mobile crusher
Aggregate concrete provides a beautiful and functional surface for driveways, sidewalks and decks. Because of the exposed aggregate, the surface won’t stain as easily as concrete. Another benefit to beauty and stain resistance is safety: Aggregate concrete’s surface offers more traction than concrete’s typical smooth finish.
Jul 06, 2019 Making an Exposed Aggregate Concrete Path: I love working with concrete because it's tough and versatile and relatively cost effective. In this instructable I'll be jazzing up a new footpath by exposing the aggregate. There are a few ways to do this, and many commercial operators use a
Exposed aggregate concrete is not only great to look at and use as a design tool it also is great for walking on as it has a non slip aspect to it. If you are attempting to make exposed aggregate concrete, here are a few steps that can help you through the process with ease.
Mixing aggregate concrete is simple, but exposing aggregate once the concrete begins to set calls for special care. Step 1 Select the pea gravel or other decorative stone as the aggregate for the concrete. The type of aggregate you choose will have a strong impact on the resulting look of your surface. Varying from 1/8-inch to 3/4-inch in size ...

To make concrete there are four basic materials you need: Portland cement, sand, aggregate (stone), and water. The ratio of aggregate to sand to cement is an important factor in determining the compressive strength of the concrete mixture.

Exposed aggregate concrete is prominent due to the random patterns in several colors. The cost of the exposed aggregate concrete may be minimized by using the decorative concrete aggregates at the face or top layer only. The advantage of an exposed aggregate concrete is that it contains the strength of a conventional concrete
How to Drill Through Aggregate Concrete. Now let’s get to the fun part – it’s time to start drilling! Step 1 – Mark It. Start off by marking the location of the hole. Use a dot, a cross, or a crosshair. You want to make sure the exact point is indicated, so you should avoid making
Jan 06, 2010 Anytime you do concrete work you have the privilege of choosing the type of finish the new concrete will have. Exposed aggregate can be a good choice, especially if you are matching existing concrete or making a purposeful contrast to another finished surface. Aggregate is the sand and gravel part of the concrete
Dec 14, 2000 *The disadvantage of adding aggregate to the top of the mix and trowelling in is that you get a lean mix on the wear surface, which isn't a good idea. Johnnie Browne has the better solution,
Jun 13, 2018 An exposed aggregate concrete is something that is very simple to obtain and get a beautiful pattern on concrete at the same time. It is a kind of concrete that is decorative in nature and is obtained or achieved by rubbing off, or clearing off, or polishing off, basically removing off the top layer of the concrete laid, to bring out or expose the underlying aggregate or random patters that ...
If your making concrete for a countertop or cast product, too much stone is a bad idea. But if your concrete is for a fence post footing or foundation, then more stone is better because you need stronger concrete to support structures. The basic formula to make concrete is 1 part cement, 2 parts sand and 3 parts aggregate by volume.

Exposed aggregate increases traction on concrete surfaces such as driveways, patios and walkways and even adds a decorative touch when colorful, decorative stones are used as the aggregate.
Sixty- or 80-lb. bags of concrete mix are readily available at home centers, lumberyards and hardware stores. Don't confuse concrete mix with sand mix or mortar mix. They don't contain the aggregate (stones or gravel) that's necessary to make a pour thicker than about 3/4 in.
Aggregate in precast concrete is a structural filler, but its role is more important than what that simple statement implies. Aggregate occupies most of the volume of the concrete. It is the stuff that the cement paste coats and binds together. The composition, shape, and size of the aggregate all have significant impact on the workability ...
Coarse aggregates are any particles greater than 0.19 inch, but generally range between 3/8 and 1.5 inches in diameter. Gravels constitute the majority of coarse aggregate used in concrete with crushed stone making up most of the remainder. Natural gravel and sand are usually dug or dredged from a pit, river, lake, or seabed.
Aug 11, 2018 Vermiculite Concrete Aggregate is used to create a lightweight and insulating concrete that can be used on various forms of bases suitable to a variety of engineering designs. This concrete aggregate is often used for roof deck systems and works with most concrete
Concrete aggregate is created by pouring concrete and stripping away the top layer to reveal the small stones that are part of the concrete formula. Exposed aggregate is used in driveway and walkway applications. It often is mixed with brick and stamped concrete to create decorative landscape elements.
Hi Concrete without aggregate is know as mortar. Mortar happens to be a mixture of fine aggregate such as sand and a binding material like cement mixed together with water. The cement sand ratio depends on the purpose mortar is used for. 1:3 ratio...
Jul 27, 2014 The aggregate was exposed after the retarder/pressure washing. It almost seems too much of the concrete was removed, leaving more of the small pebbles exposed above the concrete....thus, a bumpy surface. I'm not sure sealing would build up the concrete enough to even it out with the pebbles.
The result is a lumpy, ugly surface on a solid 4" concrete pad. My plan is to let it cure for at least a week, then scrape off everything lpose and pour a 1/2" top layer of the same concrete to smooth and level the surface, seeding with the same 3/8" gravel to achieve the intended exposed aggregate finish. My calcs say it will take 3.7 bags of mix.
In the majority of concrete works, aggregate sizes of 20 mm or smaller are used. To ensure good coarse aggregate compaction and higher concrete density, it is recommended to mix 20 mm and 10 mm coarse aggregates in the ratio of 70:30 or 60:40.
Coarse aggregates (Fig. 5-2) consist of one or a com-CHAPTER 5 Aggregates for Concrete bination of gravels or crushed stone with particles predominantly larger than 5 mm (0.2 in.) and generally between 9.5 mm and 37.5 mm (3⁄ 8 in. and 11⁄ 2 in.). Some natural aggregate deposits, called
